cone lab report

Design

Aim of the prove

Investigate difference circumference and the prison term it takes to kick the bucket at a controlled height.

Introduction of experiment

Background

In 16th century, the nonplus of science Galileo Galilei followed Aristotles theory of rate at good ruination depended only on its weight. up to now Galileo claimed that all object, lessen and heavy expunge with the same speedup. This means all things fall at a constant rate, regardless of their mass, only the acceleration due to gravity can alter the rate of fall.

home plate on this theory, the mass does not affect the time of fall. However we want our findings to be as accurate as possible, so the mass give be kept constant throughout.

quest Galileos theory, I propose an experiment that deals with changing the circumference. The train of this experiment is to investigate the downward descend of a fall paper cone. As the paper cone falls, the acceleration decreases until it reaches supreme speed.

Different possibilities of falling movements:

If we let the cone from the ceiling exchangeable the first position, it will start to rotate and eventually fall onto its pointed side. So the direction of fall should be controlled so that the experiment will remain unbiased.

One force acting on the cone: gravity
2.Decreasing acceleration and increase in breed resistance
3.Cone reaches terminal velocity: Air resistance Mg
1.r is the radius of the cone
2.l is the length of the slanted side of the cone
3.θ is the go of the l from the height of the cone.

In battle array to find the amount speed of the cones we should know the values of the displacement and the time. The distance will stay constant throughout the whole experiment and the time is then recorded. As the circumference change, we are expecting the angle θ overly changes thus this also changes the falling speed of the cone.

Hypothesis

Changing the circumference would mean that the θ will...If you want to get a full essay, order it on our website: Orderessay
