Case Study on Euro Disneyland

1. Introduction
The Walt Disney Company spent 44 billion U.S. dollars to construct the first Disneyland in Europe. In 1992, it regain in the Marne Valley town of Paris suburb that is 32 km east of Paris with an area of 5,000 acres. It is the worlds fourth Disneyland afterwards California, Florida and Tokyo Disneyland and is also Europes largest entertainment resort (Earl P. Spencer, 1995). Unfortunately, lack of heathen sensitivity and the negative infiltration strategy used by the Disney Corporation resulted in a great loss of time, property and reputation for Euro Disney. (Packman, H. M, 1999) This report will explain how the Disney companies made roughly mistakes during operating the Euro Disneyland and find way to solve the problem which the finale diversity between United claims and France through using theories of Hofstede and Trompennaars to depth psychology cultural differences.

2. Hofstedes Cultural Dimensions
As we all know, Hofstedes cultural dimension include four aspects that are: magnate Distance, Uncertainty Avoidance, Individualism and Masculinity. It impact on the management military operation and decision of enterprise (Luthans, et al 2009).





Power Distance
It refers to societys endorsement of inequality, and its opposite as the expectation of relative equality in organizations and institutions.
France tons 68 points on the Power Distance Index is high than the United States (Luthans, et al 2009). It means France belongs high power distance. So the management of Euro Disney Company is that subordinates often tend to rely on its leaders and managers always make decisions, employee accepted and implemented, whereas the United State belongs Low power distance in organizations, managers and subordinates maintain tho a low level of power distance. Subordinates are wide involved in decisions that affect their supervisors make believe behavior.
