Civics Lesson
Civic facts of life and civic responsibility should be taught in elementary enlighten (Brazile). In todays society, civics is one of the most underrated subjects in classrooms all over the United States. And because of this, learners are rapidly neat ill informed of the homo that they live in. To understand wherefore that is, you have to first figure out what factors are at play that caused it. Fortunately, the answer is quite simple. The media, the public school system, and college students lose of interest are the main reasons why the youth in the States is so uninformed just about important world issues.
A huge part of our lack of information problem is the media in this country. Media corporations have a civic responsibility not only to prevent fraud and monetary abuse, but also to not corrupt or set down our culture (Pickering). If you are a college student and want to ensure out what is happening in the world, one easy focusing would be to turn on the television. Except what is seen on T.V is believably not the news.
The big news stations in America like CNN, MSNBC, and FOX news have gone off from reporting facts but rather reporting their own slanting opinions. For instance, in the documentary Outfoxed: Rupert Murdochs war on journalism, talks about how instead of letting people decide how they nip about certain issues, they hand pick the details that go forth favor their cause, and force feed it to you as if it were fair and match, which happens to be FOX newss slogan. Is it not surprise that the reason why American students dont make do much about what going on in the world is because the news stations in this country are not reporting it.
