Pharmacology
adrenal cortical steroid supress the inflammatory response to a variety of agent and they credibly delay or slow healing. Since corticoid may keep down the bodys defense mechanism against infection , a concomitant disinfectant drug may be used when this inhibition is considered to be clinically significant. Dexamethasone is a potent corticoid. The antibiotic contribution in the combination ( Tobramysin ) is included to provide action against unresistant organism. In vitro studies have demonstrate that tobramycin is active trimmings against susceptible strain of the following microorganisms:
Staphylococci, including S. aureus and S.epidermidis, including penicillin-resistant strains.
Strepcocci, including some of the convocation A beta-hemolytic species, some of the non hemolytic species and some strepcoccus pneumoniae
Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Eschericia coli, klebsiella pneumoniae, enterobacter aerogenes, proteusmirabillis, morganella morganii, close proteus vulgaris stains, hemophilus influenza and H. aegiptius. Bacterial resistance may commence upon prolonged use.
