How was your understanding of cultural and contextual considerations of the work developed through the interactive oral?
In our interactive orals, we discussed the contextual considerations of the novella The Metamorphosis. The main object of the intelligence was to study the family relationship of Kafka and his drive and its similarity to Gregor Samsa and his fixs.
By the termination of our discussion, I received more sagacity into Kafkas existentialist writing. I discovered the poor evidence of his relationship with his father and its effects. We were informed beforehand that Metamorphosis was influenced by the role of his father. However, I only came to realize the somberness of it after participating in this interactive oral.
I see that Kafka was going through his own metamorphosis. He was forced to bind over his brother-in-laws factory to continue the familys legacy and earn money, as did Gregor. His father abused him violently when he was a child. As a young boy, he was timorous and quiet while his father was loud, volatile and domineering. The difference of their personalities light-emitting diode to the detached relationship, also his father viewing him as unequal to(p) and repulsive. Thats again, the possible reason Gregor turns into a disgusting bug.

The ghost of Kafkas close relationship with Otta, the youngest of his sisters, is present in the Metamorphosis when Gregor and Gretes kinship is portrayed. Otta was Hermanns least and Kafkas most favorite. They both shared a strong bond and similarly, before the metamorphosis, so did Gregor and Grete.
Though Hermann Kafka didnt play an upfront role in his sons life, he still stayed a major influence.
